Chacewater Summer Road Closures

Planned Road Closures

Visitors to the Chacewater branch of Truro Tractors should pay special attention to planned road works – particularly if they are driving a truck, or towing a trailer.

Saveock Bridge Replacement

Saveock Bridge
Saveock Bridge

The existing bridge deck that carries Chacewater Hill over the railway is nearing the end of its design life, and needs replacing. In order to do this, the road service needs to be stripped, and utility services diverted/protected.  Due to the construction of the new bridge, it is not possible demolish the existing bridge and maintain a lane for traffic.

Dates for Diversion

Saveock Bridge will be closed on Monday 27th of June 2016.  It is planned that the bridge will re-open on Friday the 14th of October 2016.

lorries coming to truro tractors

We recommend that large or towing vehicles come down from the A30 from Chiverton Cross Roundabout, stay on the A30 heading towards Redruth.

  • Take the exit for the A3047 towards Helston/B3297/Scorrier
  • Continue onto A3047 to a small roundabout
If you are following your Satnav, DO NOT TURN LEFT at the crossroads. It will take you to Truro Tractors, but the turns are too tight for large vehicles to navigate. You WILL get stuck.
  • Take the first exit for the B3298, taking a right at the Fox & Hounds crossroads towards St Day
  • At the crossroads for St Day, turn left onto Telegraph Hill
  • After 0.8 miles, turn left
  • You should now be at Truro Tractors

Robotic Mowing Technology for Rough Terrain

At Royal Cornwall this year, there was quite a lot of interest in the Bomford Flailbot – so for those who didn’t make it to Wadebridge Showground, here’s a taster of what was on display…

Bomford-Turner Flailbot

It’s a robotic flail mower!  Or, (to be more specific), it’s a wirelessly operated track mower.

The clever people at Bomford-Turner have created a mower which can be operated in challenging terrain without putting the driver at risk.

With a remote control distance of up to 150 metres, and a working angle of up to 55º, the Flailbot is ideal for banks and ditches, escarpments & highways, near railway lines, forested areas…  Anywhere really! It offers ultimate mowing capability whilst keeping the operator at a safe distance.

You can read all the specs at Bomford-Turner.

Steep working angle * Extendable tracks * Precise & Uniform

Call Truro Tractors to discuss the Bomford-Turner Flailbot
– an exciting new development in mowing engineering and technology.
