Arbortec Type A Class 1 Trousers

Launceston Show

Launceston Agricultural Show  – 28th July 2016

The 2016 Launceston Agricultural Show is to be held on Thursday the 28th of July.  This one-day event is held 3 miles west of Launceston at Kennards House.

Launceston Show dates back to 1887, and in its early days was widely known as an equestrian event.  Today, as well as the traditional exhibitions of horses, cattle and sheep, visitors can expect to find theatre, crafts, and over 150 different trade stands.


Launceston Show is open to the public from 9am until 6pm. Entrance to the show costs £10 for an adult; and£3 for children aged 5-16 years. Children under the age of 5 are entitled to free entry.

Getting there

FREE BUS SERVICE runs from Westgate Street to the Show Field. The bus leaves Westgate Street at 10am, 12noon and 2pm, returning at 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

FREE CAR PARK. Kennards House is just off the A30, and signs are in place for all major routes. The postcode is PL5

Thursday’s Launceston Show looks to be the biggest and best yet. There is something for everyone, cattle, sheep, horses, trade stands, entertainment, food, music, dance, what more could you want?

Yealmpton Show

Yealmpton Show – 27th July 2016

Always held on the last Wednesday in July, Yealmpton Show is one of the best on-day shows in the south west. There is always much to see throughout the show ground with horses, cattle, sheep and goats all on display, as well as the Countryside Marquee. A visit to the home-craft and horticultural areas is a must, as is the dog show and pet tent. In 2015 the food hall proved to be a huge success, promoting West Country suppliers from fish products to country meats, and dairy to cupcakes and fudge.


Gates are open at 8.30am and the event runs until 6pm.

The ticket prices for 2016 are:
Adults: £10.00
Children (Age 5-15): £4.00
Children (under 5): Free

The parking fees for 2016 are:
Main show field: £6.00
Outer field: Free

Disabled parking has been set aside by the Show Field entrance gate. Disabled parking is available for badge holders.  This space is limited and although every effort will be made to assist, there is no guarantee of a position.

From Plymouth, take the A379 from Elburton, through Brixton. On approaching Yealmpton, turn right hand just after Kitley House Hotel and follow the Show signs.

From Exeter and the A38. Leave the A38 Devon Expressway at the Smithaleigh Junction. Pass the filling station, and at the junction turn left, and left again. Follow this road for approximately 4 miles into the village of Yealmpton. At the junction, turn right onto the A379 and proceed out of the village passing Riverford Farm Shop. Turn left just before Kitley House Hotel and follow the show signs.

What’s on

From a Countryside Marquee, to Food Hall, and from Cakes and Handicraft to Diggers and Tractors, there is plenty at Yealmpton Show for everyone, young and old to enjoy.

There are two rings, the Main Ring and the Countryside Arena which are packed full of entertaining things for all to see and enjoy.

Mid Devon Show

It looks like being dry and sunny for the 23rd Mid Devon Show this weekend at Tiverton, Devon.  Head on down to Knightshayes Court for non-stop activities from 9am until 5.30pm, on Saturday the 23rd of July 2016.


Tickets will be available on the gate and are priced at £15 for an adult, and just £5 for children aged 5 to 16 years.

Getting there

Parking in all car parks is free – but it is essential that you follow AA road signs, and not your satnav.

There is so much to see and do at the Mid Devon show this year.  In the show ring, there will be a parade of hounds – including deer hounds, mink hounds, and beagle packs.  Outside of the show ring, there is a classic car and motorbike parade.  Look up, and you are sure to catch the daredevil riders of Jamie Squibb’s Motocross Stunt Show as they perform breath-taking stunts mid air.

As you might expect, the livestock exhibitions form the cornerstone of the event and judging begins at 9am, but Mid Devon Show incorporates so much more!  Live music from a variety of acts; childrens activities including magic from Ozzy D; shopping for gifts & crafts, food and drink… with over 300 trade stands on site, there really is all the fun of the fair.

Liskeard & District Agricultural Show

It’s showtime!

July is such a busy month for Agricultural Shows, and it kicks off with Liskeard & District Agricultural Show – one of the biggest in the South West!

This year, the Liskeard show will be held on Saturday the 9th of July.  As ever, the show will be held at The Showground, Merrymeet.

Of course, the team from Truro Tractors will be there.  Make sure stop by the stand and say “hi.”  Just look for the blue tractors!  This year the Truro Tractors stand will feature:

Access & Admission

There will be a free bus service running regularly from Liskeard starting at 9am; and from Callington at 9.30am.

Adult tickets cost £10. Tickets for children aged 5 to 15 years cost £4. Under 5s get free entry.  A family ticket which covers to adults and two children is available for £22

You can get your free advance ticket by becoming a member, which also includes parking on the showfield and access to the Members Area where you can purchase a lunch at a reduced rate.

What to see

Liskeard Show has always had a wide selection of high quality entries in the large animal classes. You can also see small animals, a companion dog show, donkeys, poultry, fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Main ring attractions include galloping acrobatics, a clown show, the Arrow Barrow display team, vintage tractor display, a donkey derby, Mell Brooks’ gundog display, and the Vander Brothers Duo Wheel.

The show site is clearly signposted from the A390, the Liskeard to Callington Road. There are numerous displays; special events; competitions; entertainments; trade stands; fairground attractions and side shows.

Marquees are provided for teas; bars; crafts; stalls and for smaller animals and poultry.

There is plenty of car parking, and lots of places to picnic or buy lunch and snacks.
