Liskeard & District Agricultural Show

It’s showtime!

July is such a busy month for Agricultural Shows, and it kicks off with Liskeard & District Agricultural Show – one of the biggest in the South West!

This year, the Liskeard show will be held on Saturday the 9th of July.  As ever, the show will be held at The Showground, Merrymeet.

Of course, the team from Truro Tractors will be there.  Make sure stop by the stand and say “hi.”  Just look for the blue tractors!  This year the Truro Tractors stand will feature:

  • New Holland tractors T5, T6, and TD5
  • Lely mower
  • Bomford – topper and a hedge-trimmer
  • Honda TRX420 quad bike
  • Kawasaki Pro DX Mule – new for 2016!

 

Access & Admission

There will be a free bus service running regularly from Liskeard starting at 9am; and from Callington at 9.30am.

Adult tickets cost £10. Tickets for children aged 5 to 15 years cost £4. Under 5s get free entry.  A family ticket which covers to adults and two children is available for £22

You can get your free advance ticket by becoming a member, which also includes parking on the showfield and access to the Members Area where you can purchase a lunch at a reduced rate.

What to see

Liskeard Show has always had a wide selection of high quality entries in the large animal classes. You can also see small animals, a companion dog show, donkeys, poultry, fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Main ring attractions include galloping acrobatics, a clown show, the Arrow Barrow display team, vintage tractor display, a donkey derby, Mell Brooks’ gundog display, and the Vander Brothers Duo Wheel.

The show site is clearly signposted from the A390, the Liskeard to Callington Road. There are numerous displays; special events; competitions; entertainments; trade stands; fairground attractions and side shows.

Marquees are provided for teas; bars; crafts; stalls and for smaller animals and poultry.

There is plenty of car parking, and lots of places to picnic or buy lunch and snacks.
